Anxiety can be overwhelming. It can be associated with restless nights, racing thoughts and difficulty being “present” to participate in your life. Anxiety can give us clues through our self talk about what type of cognitive distortions or inaccurate beliefs are amplifying our negative thoughts. Anxiety does not have to be a way of life!

Closely tied to anxiety is panic attacks which can be disabling. The brain incorrectly alerts you that you are in danger when no danger is present often triggering the “fight or flight” response. They can create physical symptoms such as rapid heart rate, difficulty breathing, sweating and shaking. Our desire to understand what brings on panic attacks can create avoidance of certain places, people and situations where they have happened. Fear of future panic attacks can prevent you from living the life you would like to live.

While collaborating with Elizabeth, you can clarify possible triggers and belief systems that are aiding in the intensity of the anxiety and panic. Together you can identify the irrational thoughts and fearful anticipations. Tools and coping skills can be learned to promote healthy positive self talk. With this knowledge and much practice, it can help you to reduce and prevent anxiety and open your world.
